Southern Football League Challenge Cup – 1st Round
Bishops Cleeve 1 Slimbridge 0
SLIMBRIDGE exited the Southern League Challenge cup to a single James Baldwin goal midway through the second half.
Neither side had many clear cut chances during the first half, Marley Thomas and Adam Mace both put in a number of delightful teasing crosses but failed to find a Slimbridge player in the box.
The home side’s best chance came in the 16th minute when Sam Turl cleared a shot off the line after keeper Adrian Kowalski spilled a Cleeve shot from close range.
Cleeve took the upper hand in the second half with Jack Watts and James Baldwin troubling the Swans defence, however it was Baldwin slotting home a through ball from Watts on 68 minutes that settled the tie.
Slimbridge failed to register a shot on target during the half with Jack Twyman shooting wide and Ed Major blasting over late on.
