Westberries 4ths 1 Thornbury Ladies 3
THORNBURY LADIES included two players - Yasmin Branfield and Isobel Downes - who were making their senior debuts against Westberries.
Thornbury captain Jen Arnold commented that both performed creditably on debut. Liz Jenkins made a number of fine saves in goal for Thornbury for whom defenders Tess Wheatley, Elaine Arnold and Sara Newman also shone.
Player of the match Ffion Harper affectionately known as Fizz and Megan McLachlan were effective in midfield along with Rosie Liddington whilst Ellen Morgan and Nicky Bruce foraged relentlessly up front and were rewarded with goals, 2 for Morgans and one for Bruce.
It was appropriate that Thornburys third goal was scored by Captain Jen Arnold following another committed performance. Thornbury have a break from league action because of half term
