GFA Challenge Trophy round two
Kingswood 3 Oldland Abbotonians 2
KINGSWOOD were the stars of the day as they knocked out Oldland Abbotonians from the Toolstation League Division 1.
They took a seventh minute lead after good play by Luke Chappell released Jamie Evans to cross the ball into the box and Josh Stokes hammered the ball home.
The visitors levelled on twenty two minutes from a long ball over the home defence that was pulled back for Tom Hutton to rifle the ball home from the edge of the box.
Kingswood retook the lead two minutes before the break from a good piece of work by Jamie Evans who harried the visitors defenders before latching on to the ball and driving it past the keeper.
The home side then went three one up on fifty three minutes after the Oldland keeper’s poor goal kick was cut out by Simon Clarke who neatly played in Ryan Mudd to score.
Oldland were unlucky in the eighty second minute when Ali Bamford’s effort beat keeper Eldridge but it hit the crossbar.
Oldland made it three two in the final minute of the game from a corner that was punched away by Eldridge but Ali Bamford directed his header past the keeper.
