THORNBURY RFC are well-represented in this season’s Bristol Rugby Academy.
As England’s senior club academies enter their annual competition Thornbury have four players in the Bristol U-18 squad.
Bristol’s opening match, a 22-22 draw with Bath Academy at Trowbridge RFC, featured Thornbury players Charlie Powell and Kieran Wilson whilst James Jackson and Jack Anderson are also in the squad and are likely to feature later in the competition.
Fullback Powell started and played the complete game whilst prop Wilson came on for the second half.
Bristol squandered a 22-12 lead as Bath scored ten points in the last three minutes. Bristol skipper James Dun, son of former Bristol, Wasps and England player Andy Dun, scored two tries.
