THE FIRST competitions of the New Year at Cotswold Edge Golf Club have been well supported with members keen to get back into the swing of things after the festive break.
Pete Greatbach scored a very impressive 49 points to win the second division of Seniors January Stableford whilst many others also carded under par scores in the 40s.
Division 1: Geoff Gillingham on countback from Keith Vick & Nick Wright all with 43; Division 2: Pete Greatback 49, David Hall 47 & Peter Martin 46.
The fog didn’t deter the Men in their Stableford competition with several under par scores being returned.
Division 1: Alan Parnell 41, Steve Hacker 40 & David Weeks 39; Division 2: Tracy Tomlin 39, Pat Briggs 39 & John Newns 38; Division 3: Colin Weston 40, Joe Docherty 38 & Steve Mayer 38.
American Greensome pairs was the choice for the ladies this week where both tee off, then take their partners tee shot before deciding which ball to continue playing with.
Lynda Pearce & June Hanson took the honours in the ladies 9 hole competition with 25 stableford points followed by Jan Pemberton-James & Alison Ancrum 24 and Hilary Paveley & Anne Crawley 21.
