FOREST Green Rovers have continued to bolster their attacking options with the signing of exciting forward Kaiyne Woolery from Championship side Wigan Athletic.

The 22-year-old joins the club on a loan deal until the end of the season and is in the squad for today’s National League home match with Braintree Town.

Signed by Wigan earlier this season after his eye-catching displays for Bolton Wanderers in the Championship last year, Woolery is a quick attacker with an eye for goal who is set to add to the armoury at the disposal of FGR boss Mark Cooper.

He began his career at Maidstone United but transferred to Tamworth where his talents were spotted by Bolton, who in August 2014 swooped to sign him for a five figure fee.

Last season he made 17 appearances for Bolton in the second tier of English football, but after their relegation returned to that level when Wigan secured his signature for an undisclosed fee earlier this season.

He has also had another spell in the Football League while on loan at Notts County in February 2015.

The forward becomes the second loan signing to arrive at The New Lawn this week following the addition of Gibraltar international Jake Gosling who has also agreed a move until the end of the season from Bristol Rovers.
