ELLIOTT Frear has left Forest Green Rovers after signing for Scottish Premier League side Motherwell.

The 26-year-old, who has been at The New Lawn since June 2014, joins the Fir Park side for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and registration approval.

In total he made 123 appearances in all competition for the club having joined from Salisbury City.

His two-and-a-half years at Forest Green ended in back-to-back play-off finishes, and he helped the club into the promotion final at Wembley last season.

The Exeter born winger links up with a Motherwell outfit who are currently 9th in the top tier of Scottish football.

Manager Mark Cooper said: "Elliott is a nice lad and we wish him all the best for his move in Scotland. We hope it goes well for him."

Frear's first appearance could be this weekend when Motherwell host Rangers.
