Kingswood 5 Hanham Athletic 1

KINGSWOOD have moved into third place with a 5-1 win at home to Hanham Athletic. Jamie Evans was the man of the match with a well taken hat-trick.

The home side went ahead after just two minutes when Hanham’s keeper fumbled a Simon Clarke free kick and Evans was there to stab the ball home.

Gary Simmons was through on goal but shot straight at the keeper. Hanham levelled on fifteen minute from a cross from the left that the home defence were unable to deal with and Ellis Kow was on the back post to knock it home.

Evans made it q-1 to Kingswood when he turned a defender on the edge of the box and drove the ball home.

Evans completed his hat-trick in the 25th minute after Frank Hitchings put him clear in acres of space to shoot past the Hanham keeper.

Five minute before the break there was a double save by the home side as a free kick by Hanham was tipped over the bar by Fox and from the resulting corner Jamie Evans cleared off the line.

A minute before the break Simon Clarke made it four one with a dipping shot from a free kick. Kingswood netted their fifth in the 66th minute again from a Simon Clarke free kick headed home by Ryan Mudd at the near post.

The home side continued to press forward but the visitors held firm to the end.
