BRANDON Gilmour and two Gloucestershire Academy players, Jordan Garrett and Dominic Hooper, will be spending three weeks under the guidance of Assistant Second XI Coach, Steve Cashmore at the Global Cricket School in Mumbai where they will work on enhancing and developing their cricketing skills.

A second group of players will then head out for ten days accompanied by second XI and batting coach Owen Dawkins.

This group will include Academy Players Tom Price (Great Tew CC), George Drissell (Bedminster CC), Brandon Allen (Lansdowne CC), Joe Dryell (Downend CC) and EPP player Matt Brewer (Bristol CC).

Dawkins said: “Over the past 10 years a large number of the Club’s professional squad including Matt Taylor, Jack Taylor and Chris Dent have been fortunate enough to travel to India to experience the Global Cricket School’s world-class facilities.

“Most days the players will spend around five hours both netting and competing in centre wicket practices. The main focus is to bat against the spinners, but all aspects of their game will be worked on and it’s a fantastic opportunity for our players to work outside of their comfort zones.

“This trip has proved to be an excellent learning and development exercise for all players in the past and I’m sure it will be again.”
