TOCKINGTON Manor School's cross country teams and individual runners have had a fantastic start to 2017 achieving excellent results in a number of competitions.

In the Gloucestershire League Cross Country 2016/2017, an event that attracts runners from 27 clubs and is run over four locations at Little Rissington, Gloucester, Wooton-under-Edge and Cheltenham.  Dalis Jones won all four of the U13s girls races and her twin brother, Ceredig, came seventh overall in the ’13 boys.

Tockington Manor School team results saw the U11 girls come seventh, U11 boys were fourth, U13 girls were fifth and the U13 boys were third, winning a bronze medal.

At the English Cross Country Championships at Woolaton Park in Nottingham last weekend saw Jones ploughed through a boggy course and won a silver medal in the U13 girls event, her team Westbury Harriers, came 10th overall.

Meanwhile, at the Welsh Cross Country Championships at Singleton Park Swansea also on Saturday, Tockington Manor Schools’ Ceredig Jones came 17th in the U13 boys event and Jake Wakeling 21st.

Alys Wakeling came seventh in the U11 girls event and her team the Cardiff Archers won the silver medal in the team competition.
