IT was a quiet weekend for Dursley Running Club with parkrun being the main attraction.

Thirty-four DRC athletes travelled far and wide to take part in the mass participation events.

Kate Browning notched up another marathon on her way to the one hundred club, with Mark Sprigings and Annette Heylings also in action.

There were a number of highlights at parkrun. James Everett broke Dursley’s parkrun record time at York in his first ever parkrun, finishing in 17:06mins.

Jadie Cotterell was first woman home at Kingsway in a very impressive 21:56mins, with Fran Amigoni not far behind the second woman home.

A minute up the path was Luke Davis, DRC junior, recording a PB and placing first in category.

Alice Lewis was first woman home at Wotton topping the age grading charts with a 78.26 per cent higher than Everett. Pete Dunn was first VM40 at Wotton and 22 others joined him in the top ten of their respective age categories.

There was a plethora of PBs, Luke Davis (junior), Jadie Cotterell, Louise Biddell, Liz Halford, Clair Norman, Chris Curry, Ruby Heath (junior) Aby Cairns, Carly Heath at Kingsway, Andy Kilby at Ashton Court, along with Alice Lewis and Pete Dunn at Wotton, and Diana Gore at Chipping Sodbury.

Ronnie Williams was just six seconds off her best at Kingsway and was sixth woman overall. Margaret Badger completed her first ever parkrun.

All the Dursley juniors thoroughly enjoyed their parkruns, with Ruby and Lila Heath running two weeks in succession after their debut the previous week.

Meanwhile Kate Browning continued her Marathon journey notching up her half century at the Cerne Giant 31 mile Ultra on the nineteenth of March, 5th woman home in 06:51:00, and then number 51 at the Poets Path Potter Marathon on the twenty-fifth (results to be confirmed). On Mothering Sunday Mark Sprigings ran a PB of ninety three minutes at the Yeovil Half Marathon and Annette Heylings completed the Cheshire 10k placing second FV60 in 57:23.
