AFTER several weeks of hectic action, last week was a more gentle schedule of racing for Thornbury’s finest.

Anthony Yates ventured back to Pomphrey Hill parkrun for the second week in a row. After looking over the course last week, he completed it over two minutes faster that his best time on Saturday in 25:41 mins.

Malcolm Carr set a new PB at the Chipping Sodbury parkrun in 25:31 mins, followed by Karen Carr in 27:28 mins. In her 75th parkrun Anne Palmer finished in 32:32 mins.

While Anne can be viewed as a parkun veteran, Rachel Terrett and Pippa Maidment launched their parkrun careers in Wotton and posted times of 28:26 (13th female) and 28:41 mins (15th female).

As the temperature gauge rises Thornbury’s legion of Duathletes and Triathletes reappear from their winter training. Kevin Wood was out on Sunday at the Sri Chinmoy GO TRI Duathlon at Tockington Manor School. The race started with a 2 kms run then onto a 15 kms bike ride followed by a second 2kms run. Kevin crossed the line in 19th place in a time of 52:38 mins.
