THE annual Rockhampton Sixes competition returns for its 22nd year later this month.
A six-a-side cricket tournament played at the Common in Rockhampton, it involves all of the top local sides in the area.
Starting on Tuesday, July 17, this well supported event, sponsored this year by Rob Brown Haulage, is sure to see some more fantastic cricket played with last year's champions Old Down looking to retain their title.
Other sides taking part this year include Chipping Sodbury, Thornbury, Almondsbury and, of course, Rockhampton who, after a few trophyless tournaments, will be hoping that this might be their year.
Due to the wonderful success of last year, music will again be in use for this year's final, which takes place on Friday, July 27.
It proved to be an excellent addition to last year's tournament and it is sure to create another carnival atmosphere this year.
In addition, a barbecue will be providing hot food and the bar will be open late into the evening, so it really is an event not to be missed.
The sixes final is also an excellent warm up for the Rockhampton Fete Day, which takes place on Saturday, July 28, also at the Common.
Games commence at 6.15pm on July 17, 19, 24 and 25 with the final on July 27.
The bar and cold snacks will be available for all of these dates.
