Gloucestershire FA Senior Amateur Cup

Olveston United 2 Rockleaze Rangers 1

OLVESTON United AFC wrote a new chapter in their history as they won the Gloucestershire FA Senior Amateur Cup on Monday night.

Olveston took control of the match early on and took the lead through a Ben White strike from 25 yards which clipped the post on the way in.

Olveston continued to press and doubled their lead; a George Williams strike from 30 yards hit the bar and appeared to have crossed the line but with no confirmation from the officials, Matt Knight followed in to nod the ball in to make sure and the scores remained at 2-0 until half time.

Rockleaze Rangers never gave up and were rewarded with a goal when their skipper shot through a crowd of players and found the net.

Olveston maintained their composure and had numerous chances to put the game to bed and ultimately held on to their lead and brought the cup home.

This was part one for Olveston as they are also in the League Cup Final Wednesday May 3 away at Cribbs FC.
