COTSWOLD Edge Golf Club ladies section did extremely well at the County AmAm at Minchinhampton recently with two teams finishing in the top three.

The team competition where three players play alongside a County player in a stableford competition was won by Catherine Beale, Sandra Cutts and Sue Freeland with captain Jane Rees with an impressive 94 points and Dee Allen, Alison Acrum and Jan Pemberton-James came third with captain Jess Brown scoring 89 points.

Gill Polley came in with an under par score of 69 to win the Loudon Bowl on count back from Jane Barrett 69 and Caroline Stokes 70.

The stroke play competition is played over two alternate days to allow working ladies to take part. The ladies friendly team enjoyed their visit to South Cerney winning 2.5 – 1.5.

There were mixed fortunes for the Men’s teams with the NGFL team coming up against stiff opposition, in their first match after being promoted, unfortunately coming second at Ross on Wye 6 - 0 whilst the ‘B’ team had the opposite result at home winning 6 - 0 on the day. The Seniors April Medal was well supported with some impressive under par scores being returned.

Division 1: Theo White on count back from Roy Hirst, both with nett 68 and Ken Hibbitt 69; Division 2: Tony Wheeler 68, Andrew Clout 70 and Dick Coward 72. John Barrett took the honours in the April Midweek Medal on count back from Cliff Coles, both with nett 73 and Dick Coward 75.
