GLOUCESTERSHIRE'S chances of getting a result out of their day-night match with Sussex in the Specsavers County Championship at Hove are looking bleak after the second day was washed out without a ball bowled.
And with prolonged rain on Wednesday, there is little prospect of any play on Wednesday.
The start was delayed on Tuesday because of drizzle but umpires Paul Baldwin and Steve O'Shaughnessy planned to get underway at 3.15pm before the rain returned just as the last of the protective covers were coming off.
As the rain continued, they called off the day's play at 6.30pm.
Gloucestershire are 31-0 and are replying to Sussex's first innings total of 358-9 declared.
