THORNBURY Cricket Club’s youngsters were the coolest kids on the block at the Rockhampton CC Under-Nines Kwik Cricket tournament.
It was a blisteringly hot day to play the tournament but that did not seem to worry the Thornbury team as they went about beating anyone who were playing against them.
The Thornbury team tackled twelve other sides on six pitches at Rockhampton’s Boundary Field just a few miles away from their own home ground at The Ship field.
During the tournament, teams of eight players took part in matches with everyone having a turn at batting and bowling in pairs.
There were four games each to be played, and, while there were no winners as such, Thornbury did triumph in all of their matches to finish with an unbeaten record.
The Thornbury youngsters beat the home team Rockhampton plus Frampton-on-Severn, Hardwicke and Stroud during the tournament.
