Hambrook 2nds v Almondsbury 2nds
GARY Goodwin took a strong second eleven to Hambrook on Saturday and recorded a comfortable 5 wicket victory.
The hosts batted first and were soon in trouble as Andy Taylor reduced them to 29-3. George Weston (39) and Mitch Vardy (56) turned things round for the home side and helped set a good challenge of 208-8 in their 45 overs.
Taylor 2-27, Stephens 2-55 Vik 2-56, and Chris Blade 2-41 being the wicket takers.
In reply, Almondsbury set about their challenge in fine style and continued to remain ahead of the run rate.
The evergreen Kuvinder Sappal scored a classy 72 and was well supported by Jack Kewley (56) and Guy Long with 25. Greg Stephens (8 not) and club chairman Tom Burgess (4 not) saw the Almonds home with more than six overs to spare.
