ALTHOUGH Slimbridge fell to defeat against a strong City side they more than held their own for much of the game showing good passing ability and pace in all areas of the pitch.

Swans’ Sam Turl had the first chance of the game on four minutes forcing the visitor’s keeper Alex Harris into action.

At the other end George Forsyth headed wide when well placed, while shortly after the home side’s Nathan Payne then stung Harris’s palms, resulting in a corner which was swung in and unfortunately headed just over the bar from Rich Thwaite.

City took the lead on 15 minutes with Eathan Moore latching onto a direct through ball rounding the keeper and slotting home.

With both sides playing some neat flowing football on a carpet of a pitch, Moore should have done better on 25 minutes putting the ball well over from 15 yards with clear sight of the goal.

Slimbridge came back into the game and deserved their equaliser on 34 minutes when Payne rifled home from a corner. Gloucester had a couple of half chances leading up to the break but couldn’t find the target.

The teams went into the break with the score level at one apiece and the Swans would have been pleased to be on terms.

With only two minutes on the clock into the second half Jack Twyman put the home side in front with a 25 yard strike in the bottom left corner after some good midfield interplay.

With both sides continuing to play some neat passing football, it was Gloucester’s strength and fitness that started to show with the Swans’ defence at full stretch Hoyle clearing a goal bound shot off the line on 65 minutes.

City’s equaliser came in the 77th minute, a short corner found Forsyth who made no mistake from five yards out.

A minute later substitute Will Morford gave City the lead before Zack Kotawica completed the scoring with 2 minutes remaining.
