COTSWOLD EDGE GOLF CLUB held their Vintage Open this week, a stableford competition for the over 70s for both club members and visitors.

Geoff Collier from Bath Golf Club won the visitors competition on countback from Mike Hall (Stockwood Vale GC) both with 37 points followed by Bill Litchfield (Beeston Fields GC) 36.

Mike Harvey took the honours for the members with 39 points from Brian Fisher also 39 & Pete Teasdale 36.

Joe Docherty won the Bevington Bowl which saw a good entry for the stableford competition and some very impressive scores being returned.

The trophy is won off a maximum of 18 shots. Results: Division 1: Rob Walker 40, Tim Griffith 39 & Graham Snell 38; Division 2: Joe Docherty 40, Boyd Barratt 38 & Clive Powell 36; Division 3: Phillip Meyer 42, Steve Bishop 40 & Rinaldo Leo 37.

Lewis Smith, Junior Captain, won himself a four shot handicap cut after winning the Hermes four Medal competition with a nett 63 followed by Sam Backx 70 and Tom Cranwell 73.

Lyn Smart won the Muriel Button & EWGA Medal with a nett 70 from Gill Polley 73 & Heather Morgan 74.

The ladies friendly team visited Wrag Barn and celebrated a hard-fought three points to one victory. The Seniors were very pleased with their friendly win at home to Clevedon by the comfortbale margin of six points to one.
