COTSWOLD Edge Golf Club members have continued to support competitions during the recent unseasonable weather.

Rob Walker and Chris Ford took the honours in the Mayor’s Shield, a pairs better ball medal with nett 62, from Colin Luton and Alan Parnell and Chris Lanyi and Martin Charles both teams scoring nett 63.

The ladies battled driving rain and high winds in the Summer Salver competition, a par bogey format where you play against the course and score according to whether you birdie, par or bogey a hole.

Lita Hayward did extremely well in the conditions to come in on par ahead of Jane Barrett on countback from Janet Duberley, both with two under. Lewis Smith chose the sunniest day of the week for his Junior Captain’s Day.

Jasper Hibbitt won the stableford competition with 35 points ahead of Tom Cranwell 34 and Theo Martin 32.

The Seniors friendly team enjoyed a 7-0 home win against Chipping Sodbury but fared less well in their visit to Cumberwell Park coming off second best.

It was mixed fortunes for the men’s teams, with the NGFL team winning 5-1 away at Naunton Downs whilst the ‘B’ team unfortunately lost at home 4-2.
