Gloucestershire County League Division Two

Cinderford 191-7 beat Oldlands 147-9 by 44 runs

OLDLANDS’ good run came to an abrupt end at Cinderford on Saturday.

After a promising start with the ball, costly dropped catches, sloppy bowling and fielding and, once again, too many wides being bowled meant the home side gifted forty runs to Cinderford in their par total of 191-7. Pick of the bowlers was Brad Thomas with 3-43.

In reply, the visiting batsmen found the going extremely tough up front against an excellent new ball attack.

And with wickets falling at regular intervals, the target was never really ever on the horizon.

Dave Brookes top scored with 36, whilst Bobby Woolams (18) and Kieran Price (16) also threatened a significant score before the innings closed well short on 147-9.

The Os will be looking for a much improved performance against top of the table rivals Cam at Everlands on Saturday.
