Evo-Stik Southern League West
Kidlington 2 Yate Town 2
YATE Town came away from Evo-Stik Southern League West side Kidlington with a 2-2 draw in their first league match of the season.
Yate went ahead on 25 minutes when a lovely free kick from Mike Baker found the back of the Kidlington net.
However, the Bluebells suffered an immediate set-back when the home team’s Mark Bell equalised within a minute of Yate going ahead.
On the stroke of half-time, though, debutant Brad Norris struck the ball sweetly into the back of the home net to give his side a great lift at the interval.
And Yate held onto that lead until the 77th minute when Kidlington were awarded a penalty and Lewis Coyle converted it past Harvey Rivers, in the Bluebells’ goal.
Nevertheless, it was a good point for the Bluebells who are home to Bideford at Lodge Road on Tuesday evening in their first league home match of the campaign.
