Gloucestershire County League Division Three

Frampton-on-Severn 165 ao beat Rockhampton 2nds 108 ao by 57 runs

FRAMPTON-on-Severn will be looking to end their Gloucestershire County League Division Three season on a high this Saturday when they travel to relegated Newent for their final match of the season.

Frampton ended the campaign on a high at home as they defeated Rockhampton seconds by 57 runs on a glorious Gloucestershire afternoon.

And once again, it was opener and captain Lee Driver-Dickerson, who will be swapping his bat for a tracksuit next week in his role as assistant manager of Slimbridge AFC, who top scored.

Driver-Dickerson smashed 48 in his side’s total, with Jason Hurstep and Sam North getting 26 and 24 respectively.

The rest of the Frampton batting order failed to add runs, with only wicketkeeper Nick Peacey, in at number ten, getting into double figures with an unbeaten 11.

They were also helped by an excessive 31 runs in extras from Rockhampton seconds in a total of 165 all out from 40.2 overs.

That should have been a good total to challenge for the Rams second string, whose best bowling during Frampton’s innings came from Mark Beale with 3-27.

And they seemed to start off well with openers Harry Collins and Jeremy White hitting the ball around. However, Collins was out for just ten and, after that, the middle order contributed just seven runs for the loss of five wickets.

White stuck around as he patiently batted out 43 from 106 balls before Craig Bamfield caught and bowled him.

Will Brisco, at number eight, contributed 24 for Rockhampton seconds.
