Stroud League Division Four

Dursley Town Res 2 Tredworth Tigers Res 2

PAUL Cook converted a late penalty as Dursley came from behind to claim a useful point against Tredworth in this reserve-team clash at the Rec on Saturday.

Kaylum Lai gave Town a tenth-minute lead when he tapped in at the far post after player-boss Ben Smith had unselfishly squared the ball across the face of goal.

However, the Tigers had the better of the first half thereafter and they scored an equaliser on the counter-attack before taking the lead from a left-wing corner.

The second half meandered for long periods, but Cook saved Dursley five minutes from time after Will Hazelwood had been scythed down inside the penalty area.

* The Dursley first team claimed a creditable point from a 1-1 draw at Smiths in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League but remain winless after five matches of the season.

Town have drawn three and lost two of their games thus far and lie second-from-bottom of the table ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against high-flying Falcons.
