THE season is still embryonic, but Forest Green defender is optmistic his side can end their four-game losing streak and start to climb up the League Two table, starting at basement boys Port Vale on Saturday.

Vale will be boosted by former Leesd midfielder Michael Tonge, who returns from a three game ban and is likely to replace Harry Middleton in central midfield.

Vale’s star man is David Worrall. The 27-year-old versatile midfielder has hit the ground running since signing on a free from Millwall last month.

That said, Vale are on an awful run. They have lost their last six league games and haven’t scored for nine hours in all competitions.

There has inevitably been speculation about the future of manager Michael Brown, but it looks as though he will still be on charge on Saturday.

Watch why Rovers' Mark Roberts thinks every game is a six-pointer.
