THORNBURY Town Under-18s maintained their unbeaten start to the season by overcoming Keynsham Town at the Mundy Playing Fields.

Thornbury ran out 7-3 winners after coming from behind.

Thorns started the match well, creating several chances but these chances were spurned.

Keynsham took the lead after a free kick was floated into the box and, although the cross was initially cleared, a nice passing move unlocked the home defence and Keynsham went 1-0 up.

The visitors then extended their lead five minutes later after Thorns gave the ball away cheaply.

On half-time, Thorns pulled a goal back after an Ollie Thorne cross was cleared by the Keynsham defence as far as Tom Cornock who calmly slotted the ball home from the edge of the box.

Thornbury started the second-half in a determined mood and were level within two minutes after a strong run by Louis Ogilvie saw him go past several players and slot the ball home past the visiting keeper.

Thorns were playing with great confidence and were passing the ball around at ease.

They took the lead for the first time as Ogilvie again broke into the box to slot the ball home to make it 3-2.

Ogilvie completed his 15 minute hat-trick after an attack down the right saw a cross into the box where Ogilvie was first to react and nodded the ball home.

Matt Salter got in on the act and grabbed his first goal of the season to make it 5-2.

Thorns were now in total control. A long throw into the box five minutes later was turned into the net by a Keynsham player to make it 6-2.

Keynsham got a third but Salter grabbed his second of the game to make it 7-3.
