Dursley Ladies 19 Risborough Ladies 12
RISBOROUGH pushed table-topping Dursley Ladies all the way in a tight game.
Chances in the opening half were few and far between, thanks to two battling defences.
After the visitors were thwarted by a fantastic tackle five metres from the line, Risborough stole a line-out, and worked the ball through the hands to allow Courtney Amos to score an unconverted try.
Dursley’s first try came just five minutes into the second half, as they turned a line-out over and worked the ball through the hands for Maria Highlands for an unconverted try that tied up the score.
The hosts went in front when scrum-half Mansell took the ball from the back of a maul, and went on a long, weaving run round several defenders to score under the posts.
She converted her own try to bring the score to 12-5.
Risborough scored again when Megan Coles broke a tackle to run in under the posts.
Sophie Giddings converted to level the scores.
Dursley gained the upper hand and another stolen line-out, five minutes from time, set up Jess Miller with a clear run in for the game’s decisive try, with Mansell again converting for a hard-fought win.
