FOREST Green Rovers manager Mark Cooper is taking nothing for granted as his side head towards a huge League Two clash this weekend against Morecambe at The New Lawn with successive victories in their back pockets.

Rovers came from a goal down to beat Stevenage on Saturday which added to the superb 1-0 away victory at Coventry City last Tuesday night.

And, while the club are still in the bottom two relegation zone, they are only two points off safety – which is currently occupied by Morecambe.

Cooper said: “We have won two games back-to-back away from home and had a good second-half performance. We have dragged a few other teams down with us now.

“Stevenage’s goal looked remarkably offside to me. That is two games now where we have had two poor decisions against us and, fair play to the players, they have withstood that and still gone on to win the game.

“We have been searching for a formula that when we had to dig deep and boys were heading balls out of the box at the end.”

Rovers are still in the bottom two but Cooper said that was due to early defeats. “That’s the situation you find yourself in when you lose a lot of games.

“I see Morecambe as another game. If we get everyone’s support and get the place positive, then the more support we get, the better we will be.”
