Thornbury Town 6 Patchway Town 1
THORNBURY Town handed Patchway Town six of the best in the Gloucestershire County League on Saturday to remain top of the table.
Patchway Town are bottom of the table and the early exchanges were fairly even and it went to the 34th minute before Thornbury opened the scoring.
It came from a corner to the far post where Brandon Benjamin was waiting to head home.
That lead only lasted six minutes as Patchway hit back to level when Rob Foster rose at the far post to head home.
Thornbury retook the lead on 42 minutes from across into the box that the visitors keeper failed to grasp and Lancastle bundled it in.
A minute into the second half a Jim Brock free kick that went straight to Mark Viner to turn and fire the ball into the Patchway net.
The home side went 4-1 up on 60 minutes when Benjamin broke into the box was brought down and Craig Lancastle netted the resulting Penalty.
Marcus Wormwell's long diagonal run resulting the a great shot into the far corner of the net and then on 85 minutes Lancastle scored again to complete his hat-trick.
