Cotswold Rangers 0 Thornbury Town Reserves 4

A youthful Reserve side secured a comprehensive win at Cotswold Rangers although it was the home side who dominated the majority of the first half.

However some resolute defending and a couple of good saves from keeper James Lewis kept the scores level until Thorns took an unexpected lead on the half hour mark.

A good move down the right saw the ball played to Josh Reed and as he closed in on goal he fired a low shot past the home keeper into the far corner.

Five minutes later young centre back Stuart Quinn had his header cleared off the line.

Town made a couple of changes at the break and they bore almost instant dividends when a weaving Jake Budd run in the 53 minute got him behind the home defence and he laid the ball back for Harry Smith to steer the ball home from close range.

Fifteen minutes from time they wrapped the game up when Harry Smith squared the ball across the box for Josh Reed to claim his second.

The striker completed his well deserved hat-trick four minutes from time when more good play from Jake Budd saw him set Reed free to rifled the ball past the keeper.

The Reserves are now without a game for the next two weeks.
