Berkeley League Division Two
Thornbury 0 Wotton-under-Edge 2nds 1
CAPTAIN Nicky Bruce commented that performances have been improving each week, and that the Thornbury team are working well together.
It was a very close match with Wotton and the score was 0-0 at half-time.
Thornbury had more of the possession but not able to convert the possession into chances and goals. Wotton did well to pack out the D and not give the home forwards much space.
Wotton had two chances saved by the post but eventually they scored. The goal gave Thornbury more energy and they had some break away chances and a series of short corners, but alas, no goals.
Megan Allen had a great game buzzing around upfront, combining well with hard drilled passes from Alex Arnold and Izzie Hunter. Anna Prince made a number of telling runs from mid field and Elaine Arnold as always kept the home side strong at the back along with Carys Allen and was player of the match.
Rosie Liddington played up front with Megan McLachlan, Molly Smith Anna and Jess Taylor playing midfield all contributing to a promising team effort.
