WOTTON-under-Edge have landed probably the biggest match in years in the England Hockey Trophy next year.
Wotton-under-Edge men’s first team, who are in the Premiership, have been drawn at home to six-time national champions Reading Hockey Club in the last 16 of the England Hockey Championships.
It is the equivalent of a League Two football side drawing a Premier League giant like Manchester City or Chelsea in the FA Cup third round.
Reading have long been regarded as one of the country’s leading hockey clubs, and continue to feature numerous internationals in their line-up.
The tie is to be played at Wotton Community Sports PARC on Sunday February 11 2018.
The EH Championships are England Hockey’s revamped National KO competition, and this Tier One level of the competition is just like football’s FA Cup.
