Dursley Ladies 54

Cheltenham Civil Service 0

DURSLEY Ladies kicked off 2018 with a 54-0 win at home against an ever improving Civils side.

The hosts had to work hard in the first 10 minutes to get their first score through Dursley 12, Jess Miller, her first of three.

Their second try came shortly after some nice passing of the ball down the line close to the Civils try line for winger Tammy Powell to put down.

Centre Julianne Thomson thought she had scored Dursley's third try, but in a effort to get closer to the posts and under pressure from a Civils defender, she was deemed to have stepped into touch.

However she made up by making sure she was the next to get on the scoreboard by diving for the line from a ruck 2m out before half time.

Second half scores came from J Thomson and Miller added two more.

Captain Katie Thomson, usually at second row, moved out to the wing due to injuries and went on a winding run to score.

Number 8 Hannah Dent finished the game off with a superb run off the back of the scrum 10m from the try line.

Scrum half Scooter Mansell had another great game with the boot, converting 6, with Jess Miller converting one.

Man of the matches went to try scorers Dent and Powell.

Dursley remain top of the league and face a tough away game against Risborough on January 28.
