YATE Town manager Paul Britton hopes to bring in some fresh blood to the Evo-Stik Southern, West club before the end of the month.

The deadline for league registration of new players is coming up fast and gives Britton just two weeks to get the men on board to see his side through to the end of a good campaign.

And he said the first of these may be signed up before the Bluebells tackle strugglers North Leigh at home on Saturday.

The manager said: “We are looking to get a couple in. We are light on the ground at the minute.

“We only have a week to do it but we are on the case.

“There was someone here tonight (Tuesday) that I am expecting to get on the (registration) form. We always keep our cards close to our chest but we are actively looking.

“There might be someone on board before Saturday (home to North Leigh).

“We just need a couple of reinforcements. With Easter coming up, the games come thick and fast so we need a little bit of cover.

“Three guys did not get on tonight so they will be disappointed. We are always looking to improve.”

Yate’s 3-1 victory on Tuesday over Larkhall Athletic was on the back of a 2-2 draw with Cirencester Town last Saturday.

But Britton was not overly enthused by his side scoring five goals in the last couple of matches but only getting four points from them.

He added: “Five goals in two games but we have only taken four points.

“We had seven goals in three games and only took five points. When our attacking four play like they did tonight, they cause all sorts of problems.”
