SLIMBRIDGE AFC are forming a new Under 18 development team which will be entered into the Midland Floodlit League Southern Division for the forthcoming 2018-19 season.

The development team will be managed by Adam Coyle who for the past three years has been in charge of the Gloucestershire County Youth team. All of the development team’s fixtures will be midweek evening games with Thornhill Park hosting the home matches.

There will also be the opportunity for the development squad to train with the Southern League Division One South, West first team under the management of Freddy Ward and Lee Driver-Dickerson.

Over the last few years Slimbridge AFC have forged closer links with the local Slimbridge Youth football club and in creating an Under 18 development squad it provides the perfect platform for the youth team players to take a step further towards senior grass roots football.

It also provides the first team with a crop of local young talented players that will form the next generation of players for the Slimbridge first team for years to come.

Slimbridge would also like to thank the Taylor Wimpey Company whose generous donation of £500 will be used to purchase kit and equipment for the development team players next season.

Any players that would like to attend one of our training days please contact Adam Coyle (Development Team Manager) at slimbridgedevelopment@gmail.com.

All interested players must be under the age of 18 at midnight on August 31, 2018.
