Forest Green hit the Barnet buffers on Saturday, writes John Light.
They encountered a determined team playing at a tempo that Rovers failed to match.
Despite plenty of possession our forwards were always running into a well organised Barnet road block.
Seven minutes of added time were irrelevant. Rovers were never going to score.
Yet again I would have given the man-of-the- match award to the travelling fans. Each away game costs them in excess of £50 pounds. They deserve better. What next? The team needs energising, especially the midfield. It is in our hands is a meaningless cliche unless you use them to grab hold of each game. This not happening.
The team and manager must sit down and have a meeting, where everyone can speak without fear or favour. From that meeting a united approach to the rest of the season should emerge.
Now for Cheltenham. I hope both sets of supporters behave themselves. The Gloucestershire rivals have many genuine football fans, but these must not be let down by the irresponsible minority. I expect changes in personnel and perhaps formation. We have the ability, now is the time for application!!
