Gloucestershire Northern Senior League round-up

CAM Bulldogs were celebrating last Thursday as they won the GFA Senior Amateur at Cirencester Town's Corinium Stadium by beating Bourton Rovers, from the Hellenic League by 3-0 in the final.

The Bulldogs, however, will not be lifting the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League title and doing the double this season as they are too far off the leaders, which has Charlton Rovers and FC Barometrics neck and neck at the top, although Rovers have a game in hand.

Sharpness, in fourth place, made it 15 wins from 26 matches on Saturday when they defeated Taverners at home.

They play Berkeley Town away in a derby clash on Saturday and victory there and against Longlevens Reserves in their last game of the season, and defeat for Chalford away at Tuffley Rovers Reserves, with lift Sharpness to third in the table.

But Berkeley will be no push-overs as they are looking to finish the season on a high. And they were in fine form last Saturday when they condemned bottom side Bibury to yet another defeat – and how!

Dan Gayner was Town’s hero as he smashed five goals for his side in a one-sided victory that saw Berkeley 6-0 at half-time.

Ryan Stevenson also scored two goals with Aaron Nash and Paul Brookes netting one each in a 9-0 victory.
