MR ROLLO, landlord of The Fleece, frequented by both Hillesley and Kingswood, died in 1994, aged just 47.

Since then, the match between the two clubs has been played for a handsome commemorative trophy.

This year, to accommodate the event in Moscow, the sides played a 30-over game.

Kingswood batted soundly but not dominantly after being put in.

At half way, a scorer of 72-3 (Ben Foxwell 24, Rory Thomas 14) and Simon Elcombe (4-24) looked a little behind the rate.

Angus NcCubbin (12) and Iain Green (47) helped, but wickets to Matt Vaughan and father & son duo Jim and Jake Mason had Kingswood on an unhealthy 137-7 with 28 balls left.

An immediate change came with an unbeaten 59-run partnership between Guy Lendon (36*) and Henry McCubbin (24*).

They managed 196-7 off 30 overs which looked a decent challenge.

The game looked to be going Kingswood`s way even more when Guy removed both openers, George Whatley (17) and Josh Whitbread (13), reducing Hillesley to 31-2 off eight overs.

A game changing 116 partnership, until the dismissal of George Eskins (32) by Angus McCubbin in the 24th over, left James Creighton virtually off strike for three overs.

The runs were drying up.

With 42 needed off 24 balls, Creighton finally had the strike, reeling off four consecutive fours.

His partner, Sam Jenkins was now in and plundered such a rapid 28 that he not only helped his side to victory with nine balls to spare but left Creighton on 98*.

The trophy went to its spiritual home at The Fleece.
