IT WAS a busy week at Cotswold Edge Golf Club, as they held their Pro Am and Club Championship events.

The Pro Am, where teams of three and their Pro take part in a medal competition with two scores to count on each hole, was won by Axion Associates with nett 123.

Alan McCann, sponsor for the team, was very pleased as it was his team’s first victory after entering the event for 25 years.

Allsorts came 2nd with 128, followed by the Three Degrees on count back from Captain’s Team 130 & Bourlet Consulting 131.

Toby Hunt from St Mellons GC and Sion Bebb from Morlais Castle GC shared the Pro’s prize with a three-under gross 68, followed by George Ryall from Worlebury GC 69.

The Club Championships, run as a medal format over two days, was well-supported and some impressive under par scores were returned.

Many handicaps were reduced in the hot dry weather which saw the ball running well.

Both Club Champions retained their titles – Hannah Brown-Pearce for the Ladies and James Page for Men, with gross scores of 160 and 152 respectively.

Men’s Gross: James Page 152, Vern Chappell from Chris Young both with 156 & Alex Godfree 157.

Men’s Nett (Hubert Tarr trophy): Rob Melville on count back from Dave Smith, both with 136, Rich Smith 137 & Joe Docherty 138.

Ladies Gross: Hannah Brown-Pearce 160 & Mel Lee 162.

Ladies Nett (Skillen trophy): Lita Hayward 132 & Sue Reid 140.

u PHIL Hale took the honours in the July Midweek Medal with a nett 67. Rich Rogers finished on 73 and Roger Fay finished on 74.

Angela Ryan won the Ladies EWGA Medal with a nett 68. Julie Cruickshank finished on 71 and Lita Hayward finished on 72.
