Pre-season friendly
Chippenham 3
YATE TOWN suffered a heavy defeat at home to Chippenham on Saturday, July 28.
After a convincing 3-1 victory over Chipping Sodbury, the Bluebells were sent crashing back down to earth.
The visitors went ahead at Lodge Road in the 41st minute through Chambers to go into half-time with a narrow lead.
After the break, Jones doubled Chippenham’s advantage on the hour mark.
Things went from bad to worse with a third Chippenham goal sealing a heavy defeat for the hosts.
Manager Paul Britton will be desperate for his charges to go into the new season with some momentum, but their pre-season form has been patchy.
Yate have come unstuck to the likes of Bristol Rovers and Portland United this summer.
Yate’s final friendly is against Welsh League Division Two side Caldicot Town on Saturday, August 4.
