THORNBURY Running Club’s Neil Roff had a solid outing in the marathon at the Bath Run festival which took place on Saturday, July 22.

Neil completed the race in five hours, 28:05 mins which saw him finish in 29th place.

The festival catered for different abilities and categories with five kilometres, 10 kilometres and half marathon races.

For seasoned long-distance runners, the longest event on offer was the 26.2 mile marathon.

While competitors had to contend with the heat, they also had to deal with a course that had over 1000m of ascent around the hilly roads of Bathampton and Bath Easton.

Elsewhere, David and Anne Palmer are some of Thornbury Running Club’s most fervent Parkrun supporters. Between them they have racked up 192 runs and volunteered on 69 occasions across the UK.

This week they were up north in Warrington and David was fastest finisher in the 70+ age category with a time of 26:44 minutes while Anne ran 33:07 minutes.
