BERKELEY cyclist and Castle School sixth-form student Pfeiffer Georgi was in sparkling form at the HSBC UK British Cycling Youth & Junior National Track Championships.

The event, held at Wales National Velodrome in Newport started on Monday, July 23 and finished on Friday, July 27.

Taking the win in the 20km/80-lap Points Race, the 17-year-old was one of two riders to separately lap the field.

The other was her Liv CC Halo Films team-mate Anna Docherty, who finished second to take silver.

The pair then combined to win silver in the following day’s 20km/80 lap Madison Race.

A successful championships for the pair who are both looking forward to the 2018 Junior World Track Championships - along with three of their Great Britain Junior Academy team-mates.

The August event is being held in Aigle, Switzerland.

Georgi is having a fantastic year, enjoying big wins domestically and while representing Great Britain Cycling Team.

In Newport, she took 38 points overall, with teammate Anna Docherty second on 28 and Elynor Backstedt (Team Backstedt-Hotchillee) third on 23.
