SLIMBRIDGE have announced they have appointed Dave Strain as assistant manager.

Dave was assistant manager to John Brough at North Leigh last season, and before that he spent 16 years coaching at Cheltenham Town AFC Academy.

He is a Level Three coach and has been highly rated by the Slimbridge chairman.

Commenting on his appointment, Dave said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead of us here at Thornhill Park.

“From what I have seen so far we have a excellent set up and the people involved here have been very welcoming.”

Slimbridge AFC Chairman Barry Gay said that he is absolutely delighted that Dave had agreed to join the club, adding: “There was a long search to find Lee Driver-Dickerson an assistant and I feel that we have found the right person in Dave.

“He has an excellent pedigree and I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Strain’s appointment follows Driver-Dickerson who joined last month.
