Thornbury Running Club
THE STANDISH Woodland Chase is a good, no-frills event of almost 10 miles in length, mostly run, as the name suggests, through Standish Woods on or close to the Cotswold Way.
Nick Langridge was the sole Thornbury representative at the event on Sunday, August 12, finishing well in 38th place in one hour 19.02 minutes and third in the MV60 category.
There was a good Club turnout at Thornbury parkrun on Saturday, August 10 with many new personal best times, including Kevin Wood (21.44minutes); Laura Orna (21.46); Brian Godsman (23.51); Chris Foley (25.11); Chris Lee (27.48); Rebecca Dunsford (30.03) and Sylvia Fox (34.33).
In addition, Colette Jackson ran 23.32minutes, while husband Richard ran the course with son Matthew who also gained a new PB of 28.32.
Results: Pete Blenkiron ran 26.53, Christopher Pritchard 27.28 and Emma Pritchard 28.17minutes.
Anne Palmer (32.26minutes) and David Palmer (26minutes) got their 5k Saturday fixes at Wotton parkrun, while Simon Groves completed the Weymouth course in 37.10minutes.
