Bristol City Women's Alicia Johnson and former striker Lauren Hemp were both part of the squad as England u-20's won the bronze medal at the Women's youth World Cup last week.

The young three lionesses achieved the feat, after beating France on Friday, August 24 after a penalty shoot-out that ended 4-2.

The game was level at half time, however minutes after the restart Georgia Stanway had England ahead.

Forward Stanway received the ball with her back to goal on the edge of the box, before swivelling brilliantly and smashing the ball past the despairing dive of Justine Lerond in the France goal.

However Les Bleus pulled a goal back when Emelyne Laurent netted from the spot, sending Sandy Maciver the wrong way from 12 yards.

France had the chance to win the game but Amelie Delabre fired at the legs of Maciver from close range.

The game ended level meaning both sides had to endure the nerves of a penalty shoot-out.

Stanway, former City striker Lauren Hemp, Chloe Peplow and Georgia Allen all scored for Mo Marley's side, with Amelie Delabre and Selma Bacha seeing their efforts saved by in form Maciver.
