Thornbury Running Club’s Chris Foley took part in the Berlin Marathon.

The flat Berlin course saw the men’s marathon world record smashed by over a minute by Kenya’s Olympic Champion, Eliud Kipchoge.

Like Kipchoge, Chris also ran in London in April. Chris was doing both marathons to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK and has raised almost £2,400 for his chosen charity. Chris’ finishing time in Berlin was four hours and 13:13 minutes, which placed him 98th in the M65 age category. His overall position was 18,238th.

Meanwhile, Rosina Rowland made her third trip of 2018 to the North York Moors and Cleveland Hills for the Hardmoors series of off-road ultra-marathons.

She had already dealt with freezing conditions in March for the Hardmoors 55 miles race, which was a mere prelude to a 110-mile race in May.

On Sunday, she ran the 62-mile Hardmoors 60, along the coast from Guisborough to the seaside resort in Filey and finished in 124th place in 16 hours 31:10 mins.
