JIM HARVEY could be set to swoop for Salisbury City legend Scott Bartlett ahead of Forest Green's crucial Blue Square Premier home clash against Mansfield Town on Saturday (3pm).
Harvey is a known admirer of the versatile Bartlett, 29, who is available on a free after the club slashed wages by 30 per cent to ease their financial burden.
Cirencester-based Bartlett is understood to favour a potential move to the New Lawn.
Captain Aaron Cook and former Forest Green left-back Matt Robinson are also looking to leave Salisbury - all three are part-time players.
Bartlett, a former club captain, is one of the home-grown players who manager Nick Holmes built his team around when he arrived at the Ray Mac six seasons ago.
Salisbury-born Bartlett has made well over 350 appearances for City and, since signing for them in February 2000. He previously played for Cirencester Academy.
The Gazette also understands Harvey has earmarked former Northwich striker Michael Byrne.
The ex-Bolton and Stockport man is currently unattached, but played for Wales' semi-professional squad against Finland at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park on Tuesday.
