Cam Everside South U9s 3 Kings Stanley U9s 4

CAM Everside lost by the odd goal in seven in athrilling end-to-end, well matched encounter. Indeed it could have been a different story if, having engineered a fine opportunity, Solo Tomlinson had managed to squeeze his shot inside the Kings Stanley post rather than against it, with the scores level at 3-3. After weathering some early Kings Stanley pressure, Everside took the lead with Shaun Chapman just managing to poke over the line.

This was courtesy of a 35-yard run from Josh Taylor, beating two players and pulling a shot on target that the keeper initially managed to beat out.

Cam's lead was relatively short-lived though as Zak Smith grabbed his first of the day.

The end to end nature continued with three further goals before halftime. The first of these was a fine Fin Small header from a corner to restore the home team's lead, but Cam went in 3-2 down, with Smith getting his second.

Substitute Shayne Woodward's bite forced the attack from which Small got his second to bring Everside back level.

Finally, Smith pounced for his third, and this proved to be enough to take the points back to Kings Stanley, despite some further last-ditch Cam efforts to level.

CAM started well With some excellent dominant passing from Harry Swain and Nicholas Watkins.

Swain scored from a good chip by Kai Smith to put Cam ahead.

In the second half Cam stepped up the pace and were soon 3-0 with help from Kai Smith's looping goal. Nicholas Watkins soon slid home number four with James Small swerving past two defenders to slot home the fifth.

Severnside Nuclear Juniors U11s 1, Kings Stanley U11s 0

A GOOD game saw both teams play attacking football.

Severnside had a chance to open the scoring early on when good link up play between dominic Brown, James Litten and Harry Aldridge forced Kings Stanley's keeper to make a fine save.

Kings Stanley kept pressing but Severnside's defence of Aaron Hopkins and James Dryden and goalkeeper Ashley Collard were in fine form and kept Stanley at bay. The breakthrough came from an Aldridge corner which a Stanley player handballed. Brown scored from the resulting penalty.

Forest Green Rovers U10s 4 Slimbridge Spitfires U10s 3

SLIMBRIDGE slipped to their first league defeat of the season after a hard fought game against Forest Green.

Slimbridge went behind in controversial circumstances when a shot was pushed onto the bar by goalkeeper Harry Prescott. Although the ball seemed to come down on the line the referee gave the goal and Forest Green led 1-0 at half time.

The second half saw the Spitfires start brightly and equalise early with a great run by George Mack ending with Jordan Hodges scoring. Forest Green hit back immediately and scored twice in quick succession to make it 3-1.

Slimbridge were not finished and Joe Wilcox poked the ball home to make it 3-2. Jordan Hodges then rounded the goalkeeper to make it 3-3 with ten minutes to go. Both teams then had chances to win it, before Forest Green broke clear to make it 4-3.

Ryan Ponting and Jamie Eyles were Men of the Match.

Mini Glos Soccer League U9s Central - Wotton Rovers Tigers U9s 2 Hardwicke U9s 3

A FIERCE Hardwicke shot from 20-yards eventually broke the deadlock and that actually rallied the Tigers never say die spirit.

Sam Dover, always a threat, took a great chance with a clinical finish to level the scores.

The league leaders got their noses in front again with a scrappy finish and added to this against the run of play in the second half with a well taken shot again from outside the box.

However, some good passing and battling all over the pitch created a chance for Dover who was fouled in the box with just the keeper to beat. Dover dispatched it with precision and it was game on again.

Despite some heart stopping moments as chances went begging, the visitors held on to take the points.
