EXPERIENCED midfielder Paul Chenoweth has joined Almondsbury Town as things seem to go from bad to worse at Yate Town.

The former Cheltenham Town man and Yate player/coach follows ex-skipper Lee Jefferies out of the Lodge Road door with both players unhappy following the recent sacking of manager Richard Thompson.

Weston-Super-Mare have also renewed their interest in unsettled striker Aaron Blakemore as new manager Dave Mogg’s already tough task looks set to become even more difficult.

He has given the Yate fans something to cheer about though with the capture of former Bristol Rovers man Ali Gibb on a month’s loan from Bath City.

Gibb joined the Blue Square South side in the summer but suffered a broken ankle in pre-season and is hoping to regain match fitness after seven months out injured.

The winger has enjoyed a distinguished career having made over 300 appearances in the Football League and naming Stockport County, Northampton Town and Hartlepool amongst his former clubs.

Gibb should make his debut against Rugby tomorrow and Bristol Rovers striker Joe White should also feature after extending his loan for another month. Leading goalscorer Dean Griffiths misses out through suspension.

Chenoweth goes straight into the Almondsbury squad for their Hellenic Premier match against Wantage tomorrow and is a great coup for manager Paul Weeks as they aim to get their promotion challenge back on course.
